Coinbase has obtained a Virtual Asset Service Provider VASP license from the UKs Financial Conduct Authority FCA, allowing it to function as a regulated cryptocurrency exchange. This enables the company to provide retail and institutional investors with crypto services, including fiattocrypto products. The leading digital assets platform in the UK, Coinbase, views the UK as its largest overseas market. The FCA cautions that cryptocurrency companies are not protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme FSCS in the event of insolvency. Codirected by Peter Sarlin from AMD Silo AI and coordinated by Jan Hajič from Charles University, the program is being led by a group of 20 European academic institutions, businesses, and EuroHPC centres.
