Three years ago, Shenzhenbased Huawei had to release HarmonyOS, or Hongmeng in Chinese, because smartphone users couldnt update apps with the Android operating system. In the first quarter of 2021, Honor recorded 6% sales growth while other major brands saw sales drop due to virus outbreaks and lockdowns in China. Oppo, Vivo, Apple, and Xiaomi saw sales growth of between 26.9% and 34.3% in 2021, while HarmonyOSpowered Honor saw a 24.5% decline. Microsoft says an Austrian company is using zeroday exploits and malware to compromise organizations. The company, DSIRF, allegedly targets organizations using Windows and Adobe vulnerabilities as well as malware known as Subzero. One of the zerodays is CVE202222047, which was fixed as part of this months Patch Tuesday. Microsoft says it has multiple links between the DSIRF zeroday exploits and Subzero malware. Alleged victims of Subzero include banks, law firms, and strategic consultancies in countries such as Austria, Panama, and the UK. Microsoft tracked Subzero activity between 2021 and 2022, and found at least one instance where a victim had not commissioned any red teaming or penetration testing. Read More..
