Roots vision is to become a CO2 monitoring system for the food industry, driving all decisions that could affect a companys emissions performance and thereby generating revenue. To this end, the Berlinbased startup has now raised 2.5 million euros. Today, our food system emits 16.5 billion tonnes of carbon equivalent. This means that almost 1 in 3 tons enters the atmosphere. The preseed round was led by Project A with the participation of Nucleus and a large group of angel investors.
